Chris Janc is a director in Abbot Downing’s Chicago office. He is responsible for managing ultra-high-net-worth client relationships in the Midwest region. Chris works with an integrated team of specialists to deliver Abbot Downing’s comprehensive wealth solutions to clients.
Chris joined Abbot Downing from J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank where he was an executive director and held various responsibilities including advising clients and managing a team of advisors and support staff. Prior to this, Chris spent 14 years in the commercial side of the banking business, working in mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance.
Chris earned his master’s degree in business administration with a focus in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and graduated magna cum laude from Illinois State University where he studied political science and economics.
Chris is a Marine Corps veteran and has worked on veteran employment initiatives since 2009. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the DuPage Foundation, a $70 million community foundation in Chicago’s western suburbs. He holds the designation of Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) and is a SAFE-registered mortgage loan originator (NMLSR ID 821630).
Chris lives in Elmhurst, Illinois with his wife, Michele, and their two sons, Erik and Aidan.
