David W. Edmiston
David is a senior vice president and managing director in Abbot Downing’s Atlanta office. He is responsible for the delivery of multi-family office, wealth transfer strategies, and financial planning services to Abbot Downing clients in the Southeast region.
Prior to Abbot Downing, David was the regional managing director for the Georgia market of Wells Fargo Private Bank. He led a team that provides investment management, private banking, trust, estate, credit, and integrated wealth management services through Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., as well as insurance and brokerage services through Wells Fargo Advisors.
During his 28-year career with Wells Fargo, David has held a number of relationship management and market leadership positions in retail banking, business banking, commercial banking, and wealth management. Prior to relocating to Atlanta in July 2009, he led the Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, Florida markets as regional director of wealth management. Previous roles with Wells Fargo predecessor companies (Wachovia and First Union) were held in the Carolinas market.
David earned his bachelor of arts degree from Wake Forest University and is a Certified Financial Planner®. David serves on the boards of Grady Hospital Health Foundation and the Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine. Not only is he a past member of the board of directors of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and committee chair for the Woodruff Arts Center, but he has also led the annual Wells Fargo United Way campaign.
David lives in Atlanta with his wife and three sons.
