Eric Grodan is a managing director in the Los Angeles office. He is responsible for managing complex, multigenerational ultra-high-net-worth family relationships. Eric leads a team of highly experienced wealth management professionals who specialize in asset management, private banking, trust and fiduciary management, and financial and estate planning, including family dynamics and governance.
Prior to joining Abbot Downing in 2014, Eric worked at the Century City office of Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group where he served as a trust specialist. He has been helping ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and foundations and endowments for more than 15 years.
Eric earned his master’s degree in the laws of taxation from Loyola Law School. After earning a bachelor of arts degree in pre-law from Michigan State University, he earned a juris doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law. He is a SAFE-registered mortgage loan originator (NMLSR ID 1215237).
Eric lives in the San Fernando Valley with his wife and two children. Eric is on the Global Board of Directors of the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and he previously served as president of the Los Angeles Estate Planning Council.
