Laurie Rivard is a director in the Minneapolis office, managing client relationships for the Midwest region. Prior to Abbot Downing, she was a financial principal at Lowry Hill from 1993 to 2012 where, in addition to managing client relationships, she led the philanthropy committee and was a member of the tax and compliance committees.
Before joining Lowry Hill, Laurie was a senior manager with KPMG for eight years, a tax consultant with Comprehensive Tax Management (formerly a division of Piper Jaffray), and a staff accountant with Carlson, Bloemendaal & Rollie.
Laurie has a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, an associate of arts degree, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota.
Laurie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is a SAFE-registered mortgage loan originator (NMLSR ID 871732). She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National and Minnesota Councils for Planned Giving.
Laurie served on the Wells Fargo Minnesota Leadership and Metropolitan Contributions Council for a number of years. She is former member of the board of trustees for the College of St. Benedict where she served on the College of St. Benedict’s Resource Development Committee and the Joint Enrollment and Marketing Committee for the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University. Laurie is also a past board member of the Minnesota Real Estate Foundation and the Lyric Theater. She has been selected several times as a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager, as noted in Twin Cities Business. She is currently a member of the Twin Cities United Way Women’s Leadership Council.
Laurie lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Tom, and has two daughters.
