Logan H. Winn
Logan is a director in the Southeast region, based out of Washington, D.C. She works with ultra-high-net-worth families to help manage and prepare for the impact of wealth with sophisticated estate, transfer, and tax planning, fiduciary issues, financial planning, as well as partnering with Abbot Downing’s specialists for customized asset management and family dynamics (including family communications, joint decision making, and financial education).
Prior to joining Abbot Downing, Logan was a wealth advisor at GenSpring Family Offices where she worked with ultra-high-net-worth families on a wide variety of wealth management needs, including estate planning, tax and financial planning, fiduciary matters, financial education, philanthropy and family governance issues. In addition, she worked closely with her clients’ inside and outside professional advisors to ensure that all aspects of each family's wealth management plan were thoroughly coordinated.
Before leaving private practice, Logan was a partner at the law firm Jackson & Campbell, P.C., and an associate attorney with Holland & Knight, LLP. As a trusts and estates lawyer, she counseled high-net-worth individuals on matters related to estate planning, wealth transfer planning, business succession planning, trust and estate administration, charitable giving, asset protection planning, and related issues with respect to preserving and transmitting wealth within families. She is also experienced with international estate planning, estate planning for unmarried partners, and pre-marital agreements.
Logan earned her J.D., with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law, her LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Richmond.
Logan is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and State of Maryland, and is a member of both the District of Columbia and Maryland Bar Associations. She currently resides in Washington, D.C., with her husband and two children.
