Director of Portfolio Construction and Analytics
Dan leads the Abbot Downing Portfolio Construction and Analytics team, which integrates the firm’s asset allocation, manager selection, and investment risk management processes. Dan is also a co-chair of the Abbot Downing Asset Allocation Committee. He has previously worked as a client portfolio manager and as a research analyst for the firm’s international equity strategy.
Dan joined Abbot Downing as an investment analyst in 2007. He began his investment career at Morgan Stanley, where he oversaw asset allocation and outside manager selection for client portfolios.
Dan earned his Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, graduating with high honors and with concentrations in finance, econometrics and statistics. Dan graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Bowling Green State University, where he was a recipient of the Mayeux Prize for financial research. Dan is also a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
