Regional Chief Investment Officer
Doug is a regional chief investment officer of Asset Management. He is responsible for providing clients with strategic, long-term investment guidance through Abbot Downing’s disciplined, comprehensive, and objective investment planning process. Doug has more than 25 years of experience in the investment management industry.
Prior to Abbot Downing, Doug was a managing director of Investments for Wells Fargo Family Wealth. He came to Wells Fargo in 2008 from Calibre, Wachovia Bank’s multi-family office, which he joined in 2004. While at Calibre, Doug served as managing director of Investments. Prior to Calibre, Doug was with CMS Companies, a financial services firm focused primarily in alternative investments and creative life insurance solutions for entrepreneurs. His prior experience also includes serving as a fee-only financial planner for high-net-worth families.
Doug earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Delaware. He is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional. He is also a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. Doug is a board member for the St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children.
Doug and his wife, Laura, are raising their three daughters at their home in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
