Michael F. Casey
Regional Managing Director
As a regional managing director at Abbot Downing, Mike manages the firm's Midwest team. He came to Abbot Downing from Lowry Hill as a financial principal, helping open Lowry Hill’s Scottsdale office in 1997.
Mike started his career in 1981 with Norwest Bank in South Dakota, where he worked with entrepreneurs and small-business owners to provide credit services, as well as estate and investment planning. He became vice president and manager of the private banking group at Norwest Bank in Minneapolis, working closely with the VIP Forum to research and develop new banking strategies for affluent clients. He also led a group of integrated banking, investment and financial functions for Norwest’s private bank.
Mike received his master’s degree in business administration and bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where he previously served on the Foundation Board.
While in Arizona, Mike was a veteran of considerable philanthropic work, including taking on the role as chairman emeritus of the Herberger Theater Company in Phoenix. He served as the president of the Scottsdale Rotary Club, a member of the advisory board of the Arizona Community Foundation, and led the internship program for students receiving financial aid at Phoenix's Brophy College Preparatory School. He was a previous board member and treasurer for the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. Mike also worked with the Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation and the Children’s Museum of Phoenix in their fundraising efforts.
Since returning to Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mike has served on the board of the Phillips Eye Institute, the MacPhail School of Music, and the Minneapolis Club, where he is also president.
Mike and his wife Nancy have six children and are active at Our Lady of Lourdes parish.
